To inform, advise, consult and represent our membership on the waste reduction and recycling issues within local authorities within the United Kingdom
Through:
• Advocacy;
• Provision of information;
• Networking and
Campaigning.
LARAC aims to work for the benefit of its members by raising the profile of local authority waste management and waste managers in the United Kingdom.
This is achieved by:
• providing a consistent and coherent voice to Government and the European Union on matters that affect our members;
• working in close partnership with other organisations and bodies that share similar aims and values to LARAC;
• educating and lobbying key opinion formers and policy-makers;
• ensuring that information is shared and fully understood amongst LARAC members and
• Developing strategic alliances with organisations of mutual benefit to deliver additional services such as tailor-made training for local authority waste managers and high quality conferences.

Like many organisations LARAC is a growing organisation. In order to steer this development the LARAC Executive Committee at its Annual General Meeting in November 2004 agreed a Development Plan 'Exploiting the Niche' 2005-2008

LARAC OnLine (LOL) is a regular monthly e-mail information service for LARAC Members. There is no charge for LOL it is one of the services provided as part of Membership of LARAC.
