Remade Scotland is a major initiative which seeks to stimulate, develop and strengthen recyclate material markets in Scotland . Supported by the public and private sector in a unique partnership, the Remade programme is part of the Scottish Government's Zero Waste Initiative and is providing support to help Scotland achieve ambitious recycling targets. From 1st April 2010 this service will be available from WRAP Scotland

SEPA is a powerful body which is responsible for the protection of the environment in Scotland.

Waste Aware Scotland

Waste Aware Scotland is a national campaign that aims to change public attitudes and behaviour towards waste. Local campaigns are being run across Scotland to increase waste awareness and encourage people to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. They also produce a very informative site for public use called www.sort-it.org.uk.  From 1st April 2010 this service will be available from WRAP Scotland

CRNS

The CRNS is a membership organisation set up to provide support and information for community led groups involved in recycling, reuse, composting, reduction and waste education activities. Acting as a one-stop-shop facility for information on funding, best practice, training, local and national markets, business planning, education and promotional tools, and local contacts, the network is now supported by over 100 organisations from across Scotland.

SEPa publishes new guidance for waste oils

SEPa publishes new guidance for waste oils

New guidance on the production of fuel oils from recycled waste, published today by Scotland's environment watchdog, means that fuel oils that meet the correct specification will no longer be regulated as waste.
The 'Production of processed fuel oil from waste' guidance ensures there is consistency across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It distinguishes between 'distillate oil equivalents' (eg gas oil) and 'residual oil equivalents' (eg heavy fuel oil) in the same way as British standard BS2869:2006 – Fuel oils for agricultural, domestic and industrial engines and boilers...
