Wales' recycling success goes on and on

 
Environment Minister, John Griffiths has congratulated the people of Wales on their success in recycling a record breaking 49% of their waste between July and September 2011.
The latest recycling statistics are the highest quarterly recycling figures ever recorded for Wales, or indeed for any UK nation.
The new figures show that Wales produced 388 thousand tonnes of municipal waste between July and September 2011, which was five per cent less than the waste produced in the same period in 2010.

The latest quarterly statistics on local authority municipal waste produced by the Welsh Government were released on 11 January 2012 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
This release covers provisional quarterly results from the Environment Agency’s WasteDataFlow system for July – September 2011 (Quarter 2, 2011-12).
