Description:
Forest Heath District Council
lies in the heart of
Suffolk
in a semi rural environment with a population of just over 60,000. The council has a proven track record in waste management, operating a well established three bin alternate weekly collection service delivering 46% waste recycling.
Our waste and Street Scene Team plays a leading role in developing and delivering strategies and projects to improve the service and maintain our high performance in waste management. Areas of focus include the in-house refuse and recycling collections, trade refuse collection, street cleansing, abandoned vehicles and street scene enforcement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Waste and Street Scene Team and play a leading role in the delivery of the Council’s waste management services.
Educated to degree level you will be responsible for researching and developing waste and street scene initiatives in order to achieve the council’s waste management targets. This includes developing and implementing a communications strategy for the service and engaging with all stakeholders in the district to deliver service improvements and encourage positive participation.
An understanding of waste management issues is essential and due to the high degree of customer interaction, you must also be able to relate well to people and communicate at all levels. We are looking for a self motivated individual with the ability to deliver projects at ground level.
This is a varied and challenging role and we will be delighted to hear from you if you have the qualities to help shape the future of waste services in Forest Heath.
